When asked how she came to be the Director of the Ecomuseum of Lake Annecy, Sandrine answers without hesitation: “for love!”

First, it was her love for her great-grandfather, with whom she spent her summer holidays in Sevrier every August since childhood, coming from Montpellier where she grew up.

Then, for the man she met a few years later, again in Sevrier, where she decided to settle down and start a family.

This tourism professional worked in a holiday village and, after becoming a mother, responded to a job posting from a museum in Sevrier looking for a manager… Thus began in 2004 a new life and a new love for this place, where Sandrine could fully express her creativity, energy, and desire to develop what was then called the Ecomuseum of Savoyard Costume.

Today, Sandrine approaches her profession with the same passion and trustful relationship with Florence and Paul, the founders of this ecomuseum—a true immersion for both young and old in the local life of the nineteenth century.

The Ecomuseum of Lake Annecy in a few words

In Sevrier, on the shores of Lake Annecy, a visit to the Ecomuseum of Lake Annecy reveals daily life in the Savoyard Alps during the 19th century. It is a wonderful opportunity to discover customs and a way of life, with some lessons that may prove invaluable for building tomorrow’s world.
The Ecomuseum is an exceptional place for learning and experiences, featuring realistic scenes, demonstrations of traditional skills, fun activities and animations for both children and adults, screenings of exclusive short films, and a panoramic terrace where you can interpret the landscape’s geological features…
The Ecomuseum can be enjoyed as a family, with special activities for children, a mystery game called “Louise Has Disappeared”, and the chance to explore the museum or discover its natural surroundings with interactive games on digital devices.
