Jean-Philippe carries on the legacy of a family of hoteliers who founded the Auberge du Semnoz. He tells us that it all began in the 1920s, in this family farmhouse where musette dances were held. Born in Saint-Jorioz, Jean-Philippe is the fourth generation of a family that, for over 100 years, has been welcoming visitors. Jean-Philippe lives his profession as a chef at the heart of his local area. He gets up very early to visit local farmers and producers, sourcing his cheese, meats, cured meats, and wines. A true man of the land, deeply rooted in his Laudon Valley, Jean-Philippe offers his guests cuisine that reflects who he is: generous, simple, and authentic. Everything his grandfather passed down to him—the love of our mountain pastures and our farmers—is something Jean-Philippe brings to life every day at his inn.
AUBERGE LE SEMNOZ Hotel is the story of a family driven by a passion for hospitality since 1920. Today, Jean-Philippe HERISSON continues the tradition, while updating the hotel’s comfort and facilities. The pool and spa invite you to relax. On the food side, the traditional restaurant and gourmet bistro “Le Saint-Hubert” offer local, authentic, and generous cuisine. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, the shaded terrace invites you to unwind, and the team takes great care to ensure your stay is a moment of pleasure and relaxation. In summer, a variety of activities are offered and if, like Jean-Philippe, you are passionate about nature and the local area, you’ll get the best advice for discovering off-the-beaten-path places.
